A free online travel and food photography class is being hosted by my friend, Penny de los Santos, who happens to be one of the most talented photojournalists I’ve ever seen. Her work moves people in such unexpected ways. She had me in tears and nearly speechless last year during her presentation at BlogHer Food.

The 3-day course hosted by Creative Live is FREE to participate online live beginning 5/13/11 at 10am PT, or if you can’t watch live, the recording is only $99 to to download. I’ve just purchased my “ticket” as I’ll be in California for a couple of days that week (though I’m so tempted to fly up to Seattle and attend the class if just for a few hours)
I like when she said, ”Food connects everyone. When you think about food photography, it’s not just about what’s on the plate. It’s about everything around it.”
I also do food photography. But I just can’t seem to get the right reception. Good that Penny de lo Santos inspired me. Thank you for this post and Kudos to Penny! 🙂
Online ideas is nice, but I would love to have a live food photography learning. Cause live study could help us learn from any situation might occur in the class.

We are still working out the details, but our workshops like this tend to run from about 10:00 AM Pacific Time until 4:00 or 5:00 PM Pacific time. We should know, closer to the actual date we hope to have a scheduled posted on the course page.

The Food Photography with Penny De Los Santos Course is free to watch while we are broadcasting live. We are still working out what’s going to happen so we don’t have a confirmed schedule for each day, but we would anticipate starting at 10:00 AM Pacific Time.
Many of our viewers like our option to purchase the course as well, purchasing the course allows you access to download copies of the course video content, so that you can go back and reference the material from the course. And right now the course is a steal of a deal at $99.00 (going to $149 once the live broadcast ends).
And to participate live in the audience Penny and creativeLIVE are running a contest to win a spot. Details for that are in her video and on her blog.

Yes, I made that mistake. I paid the $99 thinking that was the only way to take the 3 day workshop online. I just sent an e-mail asking if I could have a reimbursement or credit. Oops. And, I’m always telling my son to read the directions carefully!
I am so very excited. I just heard about this online class from another blogger who is sending in a video. I had just registered for the 3 day course and know you are talking about it here. I cannot wait!
Hello, my read on it is that it’s free to participate in the online workshop (live), but if you want to watch the recording after the fact, you can add it to your library for the sale price of $99 (ususally for $149).

Hi Jaden, I just checked and it looks to me that is is free to join creative live, but not the photography class. The price shows $ 99 or $ 149. The way it is described could may be misunderstood. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks. Kirsten
